Russia’s ambassador summoned to Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry

Russia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Evdokimov, has been summoned to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, according to Azerbaijani media reports. The ambassador was presented with a note of protest.

During the meeting, the ministry expressed strong protest over the fact that on Nov. 14, at around 1:00 a.m., debris from an Iskander missile fell on the territory of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Kyiv following missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital. The incident prompted the delivery of the diplomatic note.

As noted, the latest explosion completely destroyed part of the perimeter fence around the embassy grounds and damaged several structures, service vehicles, the administrative building, and the consular section. Significant damage was inflicted on the diplomatic mission’s premises.

No casualties or injuries were reported.
