The ruling Georgian Dream party has announced the inability of the opposition to stage a coup and a revolution in the country, NewsGeorgia reports.<\/p>\n
“The opposition has no opportunity to mount a coup or a revolution in the country,” Kakha Kaladze, the ruling party’s secretary general and mayor of Tbilisi, said at a press briefing held after the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections were announced.<\/p>\n
“When staging a coup, one must have the support of society and the people. Today, the opposition, this radical group, has been defeated,” Kaladze said.<\/p>\n
He noted that any illegal action “will be followed by a rather harsh response from the state.”<\/p>\n
