Azerbaijan has refused to attend the five-party meeting
\nscheduled for Oct. 5 in Granada, Spain.<\/p>\n

According to the Azerbaijani side, an anti-Azerbaijani
\natmosphere has been created with regard to the existing format.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
Azerbaijan had proposed that Turkey attend the talks as
\nwell. However, the proposal was rejected.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
In light of the pro-Armenian statements of French officials,
\nthe French Foreign Minister’s visit to Armenia, the statements on providing
\nArmenia with weapons and ammunition, and the accusations by the president of
\nthe European Council, Charles Michel against Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan considers
\nit unnecessary to attend the talks in this format.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
Baku claims that they see no necessity to discuss regional
\nissues with non-regional countries. The issues can be discussed and settled
\nwithin regional frameworks.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
However, if the EU-Azerbaijan-Armenia trilateral format is
\nrestored, Azerbaijan can take part in the talks.<\/p>\n
