Iran is ready to help ease the tension in the Caucasus
\nregion. As mehrnews.com reports, Maj. Gen. Bagheri said this at his meeting
\nwith Secretary of the RA State Council Armen Grigoryan.

“The continuation of tension in this region does not act in
\nthe interests of Armenia, Azerbaijan or any other countries in the region. We
\ncall for measures to settle disputes and ease tensions in the region,” Maj.
\nGen. Bagheri noted. He added that there should be no aggressive goal or
\nintention behind any country’s plans to increase its defense capabilities.

According to him, the presence of non-regional forces will
\ncause instability in the region.

“Regional peace is in everyone’s interests, and regional
\nsecurity must be ensured by the countries of the region. The presence of
\nnon-regional forces disturbs the peace in the region,” he noted.
