Russia has betrayed the Armenian people. President of the
\nEuropean Council Charles Michel said this in his interview with Euronews.

“It is clear for everyone to see that Russia has betrayed
\nthe Armenian people. Russia wanted to have soldiers on the ground to guarantee
\nthis peace and security agreement. But we see that the military operation was
\nlaunched without the slightest reaction from the Russian peacekeeping forces in
\nthe territory. The European Union, on the other hand, had no force or military
\npresence on the ground,” Michel noted.

Referring to the fact that the Republic of Artsakh will
\ncease to exist from Jan. 1, 2024, Michel said: “There is a great responsibility
\non the side of Azerbaijan, which launched this military operation. It’s now up
\nto Azerbaijan to show goodwill by engaging while respecting international law
\nto protect the rights and security of the entire population that lives in
\nAzerbaijan, including the Armenian population.”
