Ruben Vardanyan’s children issued a statement, noting that
\nwith every day that goes by, the risk that he might never join his family again
\nincreases exponentially.<\/p>\n

As noted in the statement, Vardanyan’s children have not
\nbeen able to communicate with him since his capture and are concerned about his
\nhealth and arbitrary treatment.

“We do not want him to become yet another victim of the
\npolitical tension in the region, especially as his mission has always been to
\nreduce this exact same tension and find a peaceful solution to a long-term
\nconflict,” reads the statement.

Vardanyan children noted that he has never been involved in
\nany military activities.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“We are encouraged by the support of many who have reached
\nout but cannot rest until our father and other Armenian prisoners are released.
\nWith every day that goes by the risk that he might never join our family again
\nincreases exponentially.
<\/p><\/p>\n
As his children we call upon you to stand for the rights of
\nour father, and all wrongfully detained Armenians and to call for his urgent,
\nsafe, and unconditional release. No people should be detained or prosecuted for
\ntheir beliefs, religion, or nationality,” reads the statement.
