Dmitry Gendelman, an advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, said in a Telegram post that Israel is creating an additional security zone in Syria, near Mount Hermon.<\/p>\n
“Israel continues to expand its control over Mount Hermon and other strategic points in the surrounding areas,” Gendelman wrote.<\/p>\n
He explained that the purpose of expanding the security zone is to neutralize threats and to establish contact with local Druze and other communities.<\/p>\n
