Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has urged Syrians to resist the rebel government formed after the ousting of former President Bashar al-Assad, stating that the uprising has been organized by the West.<\/p>\n
In a speech on Dec. 22, Khamenei said that Syrians, especially the youth of the country, “must decisively oppose those who have come up with and implemented the insecurity.”<\/p>\n
To remind, on the night of Dec. 8, Turkish-backed rebel militants entered Damascus and announced the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, which had been in power for 24 years.
