Olaf Scholz has announced his intention to seek reelection as Germany’s chancellor, noting that he is making every effort to win the upcoming elections, TASS reports.<\/p>\n
“I am saying this rather openly—I want to be reelected,” Scholz stated in an interview with the news portal t-online.<\/p>\n
At the same time, he highlighted that it is up to German citizens to decide the direction of the country’s development.<\/p>\n
“In the coming weeks, they will carefully consider who they want to vote for on Feb. 23,” Scholz said.<\/p>\n
“My entire energy is focused on securing victory in the upcoming elections,” he concluded when asked whether his political career would end if he were to lose.<\/p>\n
