The European Union will carefully examine Armenia’s potential membership application, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said in a speech at the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs in Brussels, Azatutyun<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

“We can also hear that there are positive developments toward submitting an application for EU membership. That is a choice, and we must study all applications in great detail, and we will do the same in Armenia’s case. However, this choice, if Armenia decides to apply, comes with obligations. And I am sure, as is on my agenda, to visit Armenia in the first half of the year to see on the ground what we need to do in advance or what information needs to be exchanged,” Kos said.<\/p>\n
