Russia believes that Armenia’s simultaneous membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU) is impossible, and therefore, Yerevan must make a choice over time, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said.<\/p>\n
“It will be difficult to permanently maintain this two-vector approach—membership in the EAEU and the process of rapprochement with the EU. At some point, a decision must be made,” Galuzin noted.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the diplomat noted that Russia highly values Armenia’s contribution to the EAEU.<\/p>\n
“Last year, Armenia chaired the EAEU, and it was very successful. We thank our Armenian friends for truly effective leadership,” Galuzin elaborated.
