Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the White House on Friday to sign a long-awaited mineral deal that will closely link the two countries for years to come, U.S. President Donald Trump announced<\/a> at the start of the first meeting of his second-term Cabinet.<\/p>\n

The U.S. president described the deal as a “very important agreement”.<\/p>\n

Trump presented the upcoming agreement—which will grant the U.S.  access to Ukraine’s rare earth mineral deposits—as an opportunity for Kyiv to compensate for the military purposes that had already been received under Democratic President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n
