Russia is not Armenia’s enemy and will never be. Russian
\nForeign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this in her interview with
\nRIA Novosti during the Eastern Economic Forum.

“It was not Russia that recognized Azerbaijan’s rights to
\nNagorno-Karabakh; It was the Armenian leadership. Now it is up to the people of
\nArmenia to decide how to respond to it. However, there is no need to lay the
\nblame and responsibility for the decisions made in Yerevan on Russia,” she
\nnoted.

Zakharova also referred to the recent changes in relations
\nbetween Armenia and Russia, which are accompanied by personal insults.

“In fact, we did not focus on the harsh tone and personal
\ninsults, but on the very fact that those statements were based on falsehood,
\ninaccuracy or on an attempt to pass facts off as they wished. In fact, this
\ngave rise to our response, and because of this, the ambassador was summoned to
\nthe foreign ministry,” Zakharova noted.
