On March 20, Germany reopened its embassy in Damascus after a 13-year closure, Deutsche Welle<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

The embassy, which was closed in 2012 due to the civil war in Syria, has been officially reopened by Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, marking her second visit to Syria since the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.<\/p>\n
