U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Iran on Sunday with bombing and secondary tariffs if Tehran did not come to an agreement with Washington over its nuclear program, Reuters<\/a> writes.<\/p>\n

Trump’s threats came after Iran rejected an offer to hold direct talks with Washington last week.<\/p>\n

“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing. It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before,” Trump said.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Tehran, in a response letter to Trump, rejected Washington’s offer to hold direct talks on its nuclear program, noting that the window for negotiations is open only with the mediation of third countries.<\/p>\n

Before that, the U.S. president had said that “bad things could happen to Iran” if the country’s authorities did not reach an agreement with Washington on Tehran’s controversial nuclear program.<\/p>\n

The U.S. president recalled how he sent a letter to the Iranian authorities, in which he said that a decision must be made one way or another. Trump noted that either Washington and Tehran will talk and discuss issues, or very bad things will happen to Iran.<\/p>\n

“I don’t want that to happen, I prefer that we make a deal with Iran. But if we don’t resolve the issue, bad, bad things will happen to Iran,” said the US president, who aims to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
