The Central Election Commission of Russia has decided to
\nhold presidential elections in the regions that have come under Russian control
\nin the military operation against Ukraine, despite the martial law, RIA Novosti
\nreports.

The CEC came to this decision after consulting the heads of
\nthe Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Defense, those of the Luhansk and
\nDonetsk Peoples’ Republics, as well as the heads of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson
\nOblasts, which are partially under Russian control.
<\/p><\/p>\n\n
“We should inform the president of Russia and the Federation
\nCouncil about this decision,” CEC Chairman Nikolai Bulaev said.
