Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Azerbaijan’s
\nPresident Ilham Aliyev on September 1 to express the United States’ concern
\nover the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the U.S.
\nDepartment of State reports.<\/p>\n
The statement reads that Blinken reiterated his call to
\nreopen the Lachin Corridor to humanitarian, commercial, and passenger traffic,
\nwhile recognizing the importance of additional routes from Azerbaijan. <\/p>\n
“The Secretary underscored the need for a dialogue and
\ncompromise and the importance of building confidence between the parties.
\nHe pledged continued U.S. support to the peace process,” reads the statement.
