Today, the Opening initiative sent a letter to the Ministry
\nof Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Member of the initiative Narek Ayvazyan stated
\nthat they believe that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will turn to the U.N.
\nSecurity Council with a request to adopt a resolution. Under this resolution,
\nhumanitarian aid should be provided to the Armenians of Artsakh, the Berdzor
\ncorridor should be unblocked and Aliyev should be held responsible for his
\nactions.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“The resolution should also contain a clause on the
\nprotection of rights — including political ones — of the Armenians of Artsakh,”
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
The letter, addressed to Ararat Mirzoyan, notes that
\nalternative roads infringe the right of the people of Artsakh to exercise their
\nfree will and legitimize the blockade of the vital corridor — which does not
\noperate through Azerbaijan’s and its sponsors’ efforts — thereby changing the
\npolitical nature of the conflict to a merely humanitarian one. <\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
The members of the initiative also demanded that the Berdzor
\ncorridor be immediately unblocked and humanitarian aid be sent to
\nArtsakh. <\/p>\n
