U.S. President Donald Trump’s public approval rating edged down to its lowest level since his return to the White House, Reuters<\/a> writes.<\/p>\n

As noted, 42% of respondents to the six-day poll approved of Trump’s performance as president, down from 43% in a Reuters\/Ipsos poll conducted three weeks earlier, and from 47% in the hours after his January 20 inauguration.<\/p>\n

The news agency also noted that the Republican’s predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden, had a higher approval rating at the beginning of his presidency, at 55%, but later began to decline and has not risen above 42% since 2022, and its lowest level was recorded in October 2024, at 35%.<\/p>\n

About 75% of respondents opposed Trump running for a third term. In particular, more than half of Republicans surveyed think so.<\/p>\n

“According to the Constitution, a president cannot serve more than two consecutive terms. However, Trump has repeatedly spoken about the possibility of becoming president for a third term,” the publication adds.<\/p>\n
