Iran welcomes the joint statement of Azerbaijan and Armenia
\nregarding the release of detainees. Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of
\nForeign Affairs Nasser Kanaani said this at a press briefing today.

“Iran is ready to contribute to a lasting peace in the South
\nCaucasus region. This requires measures intended to strengthen peace and an
\natmosphere of trust between the regional countries,” he said.
<\/p><\/p>\n
According to Kanaani, Iran hopes these measures will lead to
\npeace and stability between the two sides.
<\/p><\/p>\n\n
“The Republic of Iran is ready to help both countries for
\nthe sake of peace and security,” he added.
