Azer Badamov, an Azerbaijani parliament member, was refused entry to Russia because of multiple anti-Russian and Russophobic statements, TASS<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

According to the outlet’s source, on May 4, Badamov was denied entry into Russian territory under Articles 26 and 27 of the Federal Law of Russia “On the Procedure for Leaving and Entering the Russian Federation.” The refusal was based on his anti-Russian and Russophobic statements.<\/p>\n

The source noted that this measure against the Azerbaijani parliamentarian is “of a personal nature” and does not alter Russia’s stance on developing relations with Azerbaijan in the spirit of previous allied and strategic partnership.<\/p>\n

“As is known, previously, restrictions were imposed on several Russian lawmakers entering Azerbaijan. The latest such case involves State Duma deputy Nikolay Valuyev,” the source added.
