The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia made a statement
\non the military actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the direction of the
\nRA Gegharkunik Province.

“The encroachments against the territorial integrity of
\nArmenia, combined with the statements and bellicose rhetoric regularly made by
\nthe Azerbaijani side on various levels as well as channeled through various
\nstate media, are the continuation of Baku’s aggressive policy aimed at settling
\nexisting problems and imposing its own will through the use of force and the
\nthreat of use of force,” reads the statement.

As noted in the statement, under the conditions of targeted
\ncalls and growing pressure to lift the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor,
\nAzerbaijan’s provocation is also aimed at diverting the attention of the
\ninternational community and avoiding the fulfillment of its obligations.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“We strongly condemn this kind of aggressive behavior of
\nAzerbaijan, which is accompanied by the factual siege of the people of
\nNagorno-Karabakh through the 8-month-long illegal blockade of the Lachin
\nCorridor, and can seriously disrupt the efforts aimed at establishing stability
\nand lasting peace in the region. The Republic of Armenia reaffirms its
\nprincipled position that all units of Azerbaijan’s armed forces must be
\nwithdrawn from the sovereign territory of Armenia.
<\/p><\/p>\n\n
We call on the international community and the actors
\ninterested in real stability in the region to restrain Azerbaijan’s daily
\nincreasing maximalist behavior through the existing mechanisms and active and
\nclear steps in order to prevent further escalation of the situation and to
\nbring Azerbaijan to a constructive track,” reads the statement.
