Congressional Armenian Caucus Co-Chairs Frank Pallone, Gus
\nBilirakis, Adam Schiff and David Valadao were joined by Representatives Brad
\nSherman and Nicole Malliotakis in introducing a series of amendments to the
\nFiscal Year 2024 U.S. House Defense Appropriations Bill, the Armenian National
\nCommittee of America (ANCA) reports.

The amendments are aimed at blocking U.S. military
\nassistance to Azerbaijan.
<\/p><\/p>\n
Six amendments in total have been introduced. They suggest
\npreventing the use of funds to provide military assistance to Azerbaijan,
\npreventing the use of funds to provide military assistance to Azerbaijan for
\nuse against Armenia or Artsakh, allocating funds to support Department of
\nDefense activities and partnerships that will help the unblocking of the Lachin
\ncorridor and will improve the humanitarian situation in Artsakh.

With regard to this initiative, ANCA Executive Director Aram
\nHamparian said: “The Biden-Harris Administration’s failure of leadership on
\nAzerbaijan’s genocidal blockade of Artsakh underscores the urgent need for
\nstrong Congressional leadership and strict legislative oversight. We welcome
\neach of these amendments and are working alongside a broad array of
\nCongressional allies and coalition partners to see them enacted into law.”
