NATO is not considering Georgia’s and Ukraine’s accession to the alliance in the medium term, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told<\/a> reporters.<\/p>\n

“As for NATO-Georgia relations, you can see how recent events have developed. NATO says it is not discussing Ukraine’s and Georgia’s accession… in the near or medium-term perspective, which is a fact. Let’s see how events develop in the future,” Kobakhidze stated.<\/p>\n

At the 2008 Bucharest Summit, NATO announced that Georgia would become a member of the alliance in the future. In 2015, the NATO-Georgia training center was opened, becoming an important element in training Georgian and international troops.
