Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova drew attention to the fact that Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education and Science has denied media reports about alleged plans to cease Russian-language courses in the republic’s schools.<\/p>\n
“We are closely monitoring the situation and are in constant contact with the Azerbaijani side regarding this issue,” Zakharova stated.<\/p>\n
She added that a strong protest has been presented to the Azerbaijani ambassador concerning the deliberate steps by the Azerbaijani side to sever bilateral relations. These include the cancellation of high-level events within the framework of interstate dialogue.<\/p>\n
