The U.S. Embassy in Armenia denied claims that the U.S. is
\nputting pressure on the member states of the U.N. Security Council not to sign
\na resolution on the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh following the
\nemergency meeting held on Aug. 16.

The U.S. Embassy in Armenia referred to this, responding to
\nArmenpress’s question.<\/p>\n
“At the United Nations Security Council meeting last
\nWednesday on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh, led by our Ambassador to the UN
\nLinda Thomas-Greenfield, the Council discussed key issues related to the
\ncurrent humanitarian situation.<\/p>\n

We have not seen a draft resolution, and claims that the
\nU.S. is pressuring member countries not to sign a resolution are completely
\nfalse,” reads the answer.
<\/p><\/p>\n
They also noted that the U.S. remains deeply concerned about
\nthe humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh and is encouraging the
\nAzerbaijani government to open the Lachin Corridor to humanitarian, commercial
\nand private traffic expeditiously.
