From Aug. 10 to Aug 20, the 16th International Olympiad on
\nAstronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) was held in the city of Chorzów in Silesia
\nregion of Poland. Two hundred and forty-one students from 50 countries took
\npart in the Olympiad.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
The RA MoESCS reports that 12th-graders Areg Barseghyan,
\nVyacheslav Petrosyan, Artsavazd Harutyunyan and Maria Arakelyan from Physics
\nand Mathematics Specialized School after A. Shahinyan represented Armenia in
\nthe Olympiad. Thus, Vyacheslav Petrosyan got a silver medal, Artavazd
\nHarutyunyan won a bronze, Areg Barseghyan and Maria Arakelyan received
\nhonorable mentions.
<\/p><\/p>\n
The Olympiad consisted of four parts, namely theoretical,
\nobservation, data analysis and planetarium.

The leader of the team was teacher at PhysMath School
\nVardges Mambreyan.
