No miracle happened at the U.N. Security Council session.
\nOutwardly good speeches were merely delivered. However, no resolution was
\nadopted. Coordinator of the Hayakve initiative Avetik Chalabyan made a Facebook
\npost on this, summarizing the outcomes of the U.N. Security Council emergency
\nspecial session.

“The reason why no resolution was adopted was that from
\nthe very moment when the current RA authorities verbally recognized Artsakh as
\npart of Azerbaijan and refused to protect the right of the people of Artsakh to
\nself-determination, the rest of the world breathed a sigh of relief and began
\nto consider that the Artsakh issue constitutes Azerbaijan’s domestic issue,
\nthat Lachin corridor is Azerbaijan’s territory, that the crisis in Artsakh is
\nmerely a humanitarian issue, which can be settled by delivering a
\nnegligible amount of goods to Artsakh from Azerbaijan. By and large, this was
\nthe main message of the Security Council’s session and they made it clear to
\nArmenia that no one is going to solve our basic problems for us,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

Chalabyan noted that the U.N. Security Council session had
\nbuilt up over-high expectations within our society.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
“This was Nikol Pashinyan and his ruinous regime’s
\nanother apparent failure, another disaster caused by their fake
\n“peace” agenda. In fact, our compatriots not only from Artsakh, but
\nalso from the border regions of Syunik, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Ararat
\nprovinces are facing the dire consequences of these actions every day. Instead
\nof tightening up the country’s security, taking steps to help us claw our way
\nback from the post-war reality, to appropriately respond to Azerbaijan’s
\nprovocations, this regime squanders $6 million dollars on some Snoop Dogg’s
\nconcert, increases the police force, lavishes its loyal marionettes with bonus payments,
\norganizes festivals in every corner of the country. And they do this all to
\ndumb us down so that they can cede Artsakh without causing any turmoil,”
\nChalabyan wrote.<\/p>\n
