Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.<\/p>\n
Referring to the Aug. 8 agreements reached in Washington, Mirzoyan highlighted the importance of the initial signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan as the most significant milestone so far in the process of normalizing relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
He stressed that the implementation of the agreement reached on the unblocking of regional communications — in particular, the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project — would have a significant impact on enhancing connectivity in the South Caucasus and beyond.<\/p>\n
