Mikhail Shvydkoy, Russian President Special Envoy for International Cultural Cooperation, has condemned the demolition of monuments in Azerbaijan. He made the comments in an interview with RBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The destruction and desecration of monuments to cultural figures—wherever it takes place—cannot but provoke an extremely negative reaction,” Shvydkoy said.<\/p>\n

He expressed regret over Baku’s attempts to politicize the cultural sphere.<\/p>\n
