The announcement stated that he passed away from pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n
“His legacy continues to live on through the countless acts of kindness inspired by him. In his honor, we will try to bring a little more compassion into the world, just as he did every day,” the statement read.<\/p>\n
Caprio served for 38 years at the Providence Municipal Court in Rhode Island. In December 2023, he recorded a touching video message in which he spoke about his diagnosis.<\/p>\n
