A number of famous people have joined the public demand
\nregarding the preventive detention of Founding Artistic Director and
\nPrincipal Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra Sergey Smbatyan.
<\/p><\/p>\n
They wrote an open letter to Nikol Pashinyan and RA
\nProsecutor General Anna Vardapetyan, calling on them to take measures so that
\nSergey Smbatyan’s significant role and invaluable contribution to the cultural
\nlife of Armenia be taken into consideration. They also called on relevant
\nauthorities to revisit the measure of restraint imposed on the maestro.

“As we have carried out many projects with Sergey
\nSmbatyan, we can state that a large part of our society treats him kindly and
\nconsiders him the cultural hero of our times who cherishes universal values.
\nThus, in view of his outstanding talent, we call on you to take into account
\nthe invaluable contribution that he has made to the development of our culture.
\nAll of us, Sergey Smbatyan’s dedicated fans, are unanimous in our support for
\nhim and strongly stand behind him,” reads the letter.

They intercede for Sergey Smbatyan, asking to revisit the
\nmeasure of restraint imposed on him and to allow him to be in the sphere where
\nhe belongs.
