The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh
\nmade a statement, refuting Azerbaijan’s claims about the deployment of military
\nequipment.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“We draw the attention of international actors, and
\nespecially the UN Security Council, to the fact that Azerbaijan is escalating
\nthe situation just two days after the request of the Republic of Armenia to
\nconvene an emergency session of the UN Security Council related to the
\ndeteriorating humanitarian situation caused by the complete blockade imposed on
\nthe civilian population of Artsakh by Azerbaijani authorities. It is nothing
\nbut an attempt to distract the attention of international structures from the humanitarian
\ndisaster provoked in the Republic of Artsakh by Azerbaijan’s illegal blocking
\nof the Lachin Corridor,” reads the statement.
<\/p><\/p>\n
It is noted that due to the lack of efficient steps by the
\ninternational community, Azerbaijan continues to violate the provisions of the
\nTrilateral Statement of November 9, 2020, universal international legal norms,
\nand specific international legal acts related to the Lachin Corridor. <\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
The Artsakh Foreign Ministry urges all international actors,
\nand in particular, the Russian Peacekeeping Contingent, to immediately take
\nappropriate steps to deter the possible provocative actions of Azerbaijan.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“In the current situation, we consider it imperative to
\nconvene an emergency session of the UN Security Council as soon as possible for
\npassing a decision on taking the necessary and efficient measures aimed at the
\ncomplete and unconditional unblocking of the Lachin Corridor,” reads the
\nstatement.
