A number of scholars, religious leaders and public figures
\nliving in Israel called on President Isaac Herzog to help resolve the
\nhumanitarian crisis in Artsakh and provide 120,000 people with food supplies.<\/p>\n

“The State of Israel has close ties with Azerbaijan,
\nwith the state that has created this crisis and is able to resolve it. These ties
\noblige the State of Israel to take a clear position and not to stand idly
\nby,” reads the letter.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
They noted that hereby Azerbaijan breaks the Statement of
\nNovember 9, 2020, and creates a serious humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
“In the light of the historical bonds linking us with
\nthe Armenian nation, we cannot stand silent. Both the history of the Jews and
\nthe history of Armenia attest to the fact that political excuses are made to
\njustify inaction and apathy,” they wrote.<\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
The authors called on the country’s president to demand that
\nhis Azerbaijani partners lift the blockade of the corridor.<\/p>\n
