In a phone call with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, U.S. President Donald Trump urged him to continue acting as a mediator in ceasefire negotiations over the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the Emir’s office cited by TASS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The U.S. president highly valued Qatar’s efforts in mediating between the parties to the conflict and called on the Emir to remain engaged in the negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip,” the statement posted on the Emir’s official website said.<\/p>\n
