Armenia responded to Azerbaijan’s letter regarding the
\nYeraskh metallurgical plant, demanding that Azerbaijan end the use of force in
\nthe sovereign territory of Armenia.

Azerbaijan had accused Armenia of failing to adhere to the
\nConvention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context during
\nthe construction of the metallurgical plant in Yeraskh.<\/p>\n

“We have responded to their accusations and noted the criteria
\naccording to which the plant is going to run. The plant is not being
\nconstructed in violation of any standards. We demand that Azerbaijan end the
\nuse of force in the sovereign territory of Armenia. In fact, on account of the
\nfire opened on the construction site, workers have suffered injuries and
\nmaterial damage has been caused. Thus, Azerbaijan itself brutally breaches some
\nArticles of that very Convention, while Armenia complies with all the
\nobligations it assumed under international law,” Spokesperson for the RA
\nMinistry of Environment Ani Hakobyan told Armenpress.<\/p>\n
