On account of the eight-month total blockade of the only
\nroad (the Lachin corridor) connecting Artsakh to Armenia, the people of Artsakh
\nhave been suffering an acute shortage of medical and food supplies and constant
\nstress. As a result, in blockaded Artsakh the rates of medical complications
\nhave grown as compared to the previous year.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh reports
\nthat in the past seven months, that is in the period between January and July,
\nthe death rate from circulatory system diseases has increased more than
\ntwofold. Thus, the death rate from acute and chronic heart failure has
\nincreased by 66%, from acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) by 20.8%,
\nfrom cerebral palsy by 8.8%.
