The World Council of Churches (WCC) and Conference of
\nEuropean Churches (CEC) published an open letter to High Representative of the
\nUnion for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, expressing their
\ndeep concern about the humanitarian situation in Artsakh caused by the
\nAzerbaijani blockade. General secretaries of the organizations noted that
\ninternational organizations need to exert maximum effort at persuading
\nAzerbaijan to respect the orders of the International Court of Justice to
\nimmediately lift the blockade of Artsakh by reopening the Lachin Corridor.<\/p>\n
“The current humanitarian crisis in Artsakh caused by the
\nAzerbaijani blockade manifests itself in the disconnection of food, medicine,
\nelectricity, and fuel supplies, thus seriously affecting the lives and living
\nconditions of 120,000 people, including children,” reads the letter.<\/p>\n
