“Fifty-eight thousand people have already joined the
\ninitiative. Our next step is the counting and identification of votes,”
\nCoordinator of the initiative Avetik Chalabyan said.<\/p>\n

He noted that they will take a break now for two weeks in
\norder to conduct all that work and submit the results to the CEC. The latter
\nhas a month to validate the results.<\/p>\n
“The results should be validated within a month, which
\nmeans that this may be done even earlier. We should take into account the fact
\nthat the Yerevan Council of Elders elections are due soon, and the CEC is
\nheavily engaged in this process. After the CEC validation, the bill will be
\nbrought before Parliament. The NA, in its turn, has two months to debate it.
\nAfterward, the bill will be put to a vote,” Chalabyan said.<\/p>\n
He noted that this process will start in late September and
\ncalled on diplomats and constitutional experts to join the initiative.<\/p>\n
