French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed that France will recognize the State of Palestine on Sept. 22. He announced the decision in an X post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Macron had first revealed his intention to recognize Palestine back in July.<\/p>\n

“I spoke with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas… I confirmed to President Abbas my intention to recognize the State of Palestine this Monday in New York,” Macron wrote.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Politico reported that Israel is preparing retaliatory measures in response to France’s planned recognition of Palestine in September.
