Turkish authorities have lifted several additional tariffs on goods imported from the United States that had been in place since 2018, according to the country’s official government bulletin.<\/p>\n
The removal affects 33 products, including alcoholic beverages, passenger cars, tobacco, and cosmetics. According to Turkey’s Ministry of Trade, the decision came after “successful and productive negotiations.”<\/p>\n
“We will continue to work and implement policies to reach a trade volume of $100 billion, which is one of the main goals of economic relations between Turkey and the U.S.,” the ministry said.<\/p>\n
The decision to lift the additional tariffs comes ahead of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to the United States. Erdoğan will attend the U.N.
