Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco and Malta have formally recognized the State of Palestine.<\/p>\n
“By joining the group of countries that have recognized the State of Palestine, Belgium is today sending a powerful signal both politically and diplomatically,” Belgium’s prime minister said.<\/p>\n
Luxembourg also announced its recognition of Palestine as a state. Prime Minister Luc Frieden stated:<\/p>\n
“I declare that as of today, Luxembourg officially recognizes the State of Palestine. This is not the end of the process, but rather the beginning of a new phase—one based on hope, diplomacy, dialogue and the desire for peaceful coexistence.”<\/p>\n
Malta likewise confirmed its decision to recognize Palestine.<\/p>\n
“Let me begin with a clear and unequivocal statement: the Republic of Malta proudly confirms that it officially recognizes the State of Palestine.
