The Secretary-General of the U.N. António Guterres is deeply
\nconcerned by the reports of continued challenges related to the freedom of
\nmovement along the Lachin Corridor, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General
\nof the U.N. Farhan Haq reports.

“He recalls his previous statement on the need for the
\nParties to implement the Orders of the International Court of Justice (ICJ),
\nincluding the Orders issued on 22 February 2023 and reaffirmed on 6 July 2023,
\nrelated to measures to ensure unimpeded movement of persons, vehicles and cargo
\nalong the Lachin Corridor in both directions,” Haq said.

As he noted, Guterres is particularly concerned about
\nreports of the deteriorating humanitarian situation on the ground and calls for
\nurgent steps to facilitate access for the delivery of humanitarian assistance
\nto people in need.

Guterres urges both parties to intensify efforts towards the
\nlong-term normalization of relations for the benefit of peace and security in
\nthe region.
