Azerbaijan caused intentional mental sufferings to the
\nmothers, sisters and other family members of Armenian soldiers by sending the
\nphotos of tortured military servicemen to their families through social media
\naccounts. Former Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia Arman Tatoyan

“During the Azerbaijani-provoked 2020 44-day and 2022
\nSeptember 13-14 wars against Armenia and Artsakh, the Azerbaijani armed forces
\ncommitted numerous war crimes, including torture of prisoners of war and civilians,
\nextrajudicial killings. The basis of these criminal acts of Azerbaijan is the
\ncontinuing fascist policy of Armenophobia and animosity of the authorities of
\nthis country.<\/p>\n

On Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and other social networks,
\nAzerbaijani user accounts, targeting the Armenian audience, disseminated and
\nsent the photos of the killed and tortured military servicemen directly to
\ntheir families.<\/p>\n

Studies confirm that the mentioned crimes are encouraged by
\nthe authorities of Azerbaijan. They aim to cause severe mental sufferings to
\nfamilies and maintain tension in Armenian society,” Tatoyan noted.<\/p>\n
