At the weekly briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry
\nSpokesperson Maria Zakharova referred to Artsakh resident Vagif Khachatryan’s
\narrest by Azerbaijan.

“There is no doubt that this incident is a hindrance on
\nour way to find difficult but at the same time necessary settlements,
\ncompromises and solutions to the existing issues. It only exacerbates the
\nsituation. Secondly, we heard totally opposing views from the Armenian and
\nAzerbaijani sides. Next, our top priority is the reconciliation both in terms
\nof the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and in terms of the protection
\nof rights and security of the population of Karabakh,” Russian Foreign
\nMinistry Spokesperson noted.<\/p>\n

As we reported earlier, a 68-year-old citizen of the
\nRepublic of Artsakh was detained by Azerbaijan at the checkpoint and was taken
\nto Baku. He was one of the patients who were being transferred to RA hospitals
\nto undergo treatment.
