France’s Former President, Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been sentenced to five years in prison, does not intend to request a pardon from Emmanuel Macron. According to TASS<\/a>, Sarkozy’s lawyer said this to BFMTV.<\/p>\n

“He is not considering asking the president for a pardon, as he intends to prove his innocence,” the lawyer said.<\/p>\n

According to the lawyer, the defense plans to do everything possible to ensure that Sarkozy’s prison term is as short as possible. The lawyer also described the former president’s conviction as unfounded.<\/p>\n
