Senate Republicans have blocked a move to pass an aid bill
\nfor Ukraine, as well as Israel and Gaza after failing to agree on border
\nsecurity issues, the BBC reports.

The White House has warned that U.S. funds for Ukraine could
\nsoon run out, while a representative of the Office of the Ukrainian president
\nsaid there is a “very high possibility” that the war will be lost to Russia if
\nthe U.S. fails to secure more aid for Kyiv.

Fifty-one senators voted for, 49 against advancing the bill,
\nwhile 60 votes were needed.

Moreover, on Dec. 6, the Biden administration announced new
\nsecurity assistance to Ukraine worth $175 million from the aid package that had
\nalready been approved. According to the Pentagon, the package includes weapons,
\nmissiles and artillery shells.
