On Sep. 18, 2019, Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkhitaryan was
\nbrutally beaten outside an apartment building on Arsenyan Street in the town of
\nYeghegnadzor of the Vayots Dzor Province. He was in a coma for more than three
\nyears.<\/p>\n\n
According to his family members, Trdat Sargsyan, who was the
\nGovernor of the Vayots Dzor Province at that time, was directly engaged in the
\nviolence against the lieutenant colonel. He resigned as governor of the
\nprovince in the wake of this scandal. Now he is a deputy from the Civil
