\nMinistry of Internal Affairs reports that at 8:15 a.m. local time (at 4:15 a.m.
\nGMT), an earthquake happened 61 km north of the city of Sumgait in Azerbaijan.
\nThe earthquake occurred at a depth of 18 kilometers and measured 5.6 on the
\nRichter scale. <\/p>\n

As reported, at the epicenter, tremors measured seven to
\neight on the Richter scale.

The earthquake was also felt in the towns of Noyemberyan,
\nIjevan, Dilijan and Berd of Tavush Province, as well as in Achajur village,
\nregistering a magnitude of three.
