In his press conference, Nikol Pashinyan referred to the
\ncurrent situation in Artsakh. An observation was made that while people in
\nArtsakh are facing famine, his wife published a photo of “ajapsandal”
\n(a vegetable dish). Referring to that observation, he said: “There were
\ntomatoes, okra and eggplant in the photo. Do you mean that there is no okra or
\neggplant in Karabakh in July? Why? How come?”

According to Pashinyan, Armenia provided Artsakh with proper
\naid so that it could cope with the current difficult situation. As for okra or
\neggplant, it is up to the people of Artsakh to grow them.

With regard to this, Artsakh NA MP Metaxe Hakobyan told ABC
\nMedia: “It is a rather strange thing that the prime minister of the
\ncountry is always praising his wife. As if it were his job. In response to his
\nstatements and to his wife’s “ajapsandal”, I would like to note that
\neveryone in Artsakh could make “ajapsandal” if there were fuel
\nsupplies here and the transportation of food from villages to town was
\npossible. Unlike him or his wife, who tends the garden in suit, here in
\nArtsakh, everyone is engaged in farming.”

According to her, people in Artsakh carry on a
\nlife-and-death struggle even when cultivating that very land.

“When cultivating the land, people in villages are
\nfaced with the harsh reality every day: the enemy simply fires on them.
\nVillagers have great difficulty cultivating their lands. However, even in this
\nsituation, no piece of land is left uncultivated,” Hakobyan noted.

According to Metaxe Hakobyan, Pashinyan is well aware of
\nthis. However, it is par for the course for him to lie, and his style has not
\nchanged, which was not unexpected, in fact.

Pashinyan also made a statement that by using the term
\n“Artsakh” we accept Azerbaijan’s position that Nagorno-Karabakh does
\nnot exist. With regard to this, Hakobyan said: “As Nikol Pashiyan did not
\ncome to power, but seized power rather illegally, with the help of forces
\nunknown to anyone, we witness the legislation and Constitution of Mother
\nArmenia being violated every day. He tramples on them every single day. While,
\nat the same time, he tries to charge the third president of Armenia with the
\nArticle of Constitutional Coup. He and the other members of KP violate the
\nConstitution of the Republic of Armenia every single day. Surely, he cannot
\nunderstand and is not even familiar with the term “Republic of
\nArtsakh”. Even if he is familiar with the term, he wants to undermine its
\nmeaning. Under the Constitution of the Republic of Artsakh, the terms
\n“Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh” and “Republic of Artsakh”
\nare identical.”
